Memorabilia

  • February 27, 2017

Presented at GIV LOWE gallery // Lisbon // Portugal

Memorabilia refers to anything that commemorates an event.
Memorabilia was coined from the Latin word memorare, meaning “to bring to mind.” You save memorabilia to help you remember, or jog your memory.

Seven artists, Yuri Pirondi, Inês von Bonhorst, Paulo Morais, Paolo Zerbini, Rupert Jaeger, Marta Angelozzi and Edgar de Oliveira, recalled a personal childhood place or memory and explored the idea of whether a memory can be forgotten and then remembered.
Like hazy memory instances and occurrences their work seems like clouds floating across a coloured sky. They used photography and installation as a way for express their feelings.

This exhibition is the result of one year of research and shows recollections of fragmental memories such as amusement parks, hazy landscapes and hidden places.

Inês von Bonhorst in collaboration with Paulo Morais they created “Estafeta”
